Topic Areas of Interest

Acorda Press is aggressively acquiring new titles, however prospective authors should be aware of the topics we are interested in before submitting a prospectus.

Acorda Press is committed to the dissemination of critical and alternative viewpoints in all matters related to education and learning. We are about sharpening the cutting edge of social, cultural and technological change, especially where there is relevance to how people learn. Our goal is to push beyond the current limitations of learning and education, and to stimulate discussion by reaching out to an intelligent, non-academic public.

Acorda Press prefers authors who are committed practitioners, specifically those who are engaged in evidence-based practice or otherwise conducting research in non-academic settings. While we strongly encourage heterodox ideas, we nonetheless evaluate submissions based on a high level of scholarship. This not only includes research quality, but demonstrable knowledge in the philosophical underpinnings and evolution of thinking in education and learning.

We do not publish fiction, picture books, cookbooks, memoirs/autobiographies or poetry.
